Barbaros was born in Turkey and immigrated to the United States when he was 3 years old. He was raised in Massachusetts and went to a small liberal arts college in Fitchburg, MA. Barbaros majored in Psychology as a Freshman because he knew that he wanted to be in the counseling profession. After his sophomore year at Fitchburg, he transferred out of state and enrolled at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville campus. He continued to pursue Psychology as his major and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001. During his time in Tennessee, he was also a part of the football team as a walk on scholar athlete. He began his professional career in counseling in Lawrence, MA. He pursued a graduate degree at Lesley University and graduated with his Masters in Counseling Psychology in 2007. He has been licensed in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and now in New Jersey.
He currently has his CCS, LCADC and LPC licenses in New Jersey. Barbaros fell in love with Psychology when he took his first Psychology class as a Junior at Methuen High School in Massachusetts. This set his professional track and he has not deterred from this since high school. He brings over 13 years of professional experience across 3 states to Alpha Healing Center. He has a great passion to provide evidence based, up to date techniques to all individuals and their families who struggle with substance use and/or mental health issues. He is highly motivated and enthusiastic every day. It gives him great joy that he can have the opportunity to make a positive impact on an individual’s life but also their family, friends and community.
